The Nohkan differs significantly from Western concert instruments because it is not designed around a standardized pitch system. Strictly speaking, the Nohkan does not have a fixed concert pitch and does not follow a standardized diatonic or chromatic scale. Its pitch relationships are determined by traditional construction methods and performance practice rather than by equal temperament. The Nohkan fundamentally covers a range of two octaves.
Authentic Tone & Craftsmanship: Expertly designed to replicate the unique pitch and internal throat structure (nodo) of traditional bamboo Nohkan. Delivers the piercing, high-pitched "hishigi" sound and deep resonant tones required for authentic theatrical atmosphere.
Durable & Travel-Friendly: Made from high-quality, climate-resistant materials to prevent cracking, ensuring consistent pitch and longevity. Comes with a beautiful, protective soft storage case to keep your instrument safe from dust and moisture.
Fingering charts incl. One size only 40cm.
