1) DOMESTIC TAX and 5% HANDLING CHARGE
Please note that foreign residents are exempted from the Japanese sales tax, however our product price will add 5% handling fee at checkout. Please keep in mind that there will be an additional shipping charge to apply for all mail-orders. Shipping charge will be calculated after the order is placed. By doing so, you'll save a lot on postage as we can weigh the exact weight for your order.

*Please do not change your shipping address&name after the order is placed! We cannot guarantee whether your revision will reflect once the order is paid.
Shipping charge is based on weight and destination. Since we can measure the exact weight, it will save you over 30% on shipping cost. Feel free to ask us for an exact quote if you wish.
We do not refund an outbound shipping charge if you return your item for change of mind or if your parcel is returned to us due to incomplete shipping address.

For international customers, we ask you to pay either by credit card, Paypal or international money orders. For domestic orders, please pay by credit card or cash-on-delivery (From the second order on, you can pay at convenience stores after your order has arrived). In case of credit card payment, please place an order via online. If you wish postal office's cash-on-delivery service, you can specify the arrival date/time zone (A.M., P.M., EVENING) with no extra cost.
ALL orders are quoted and will be charged in JPY (Japanese yen). Overseas customers will be charged at the rate in force with your credit card issuer when the transaction is completed. The conversion rate will be at the prevailing rate at time of order. Due to currency fluctuations, prices shown are not accurate but approximate and for your information only.
5)METHOD OF PAYMENT:
A) Credit cards (Amex, JCB, MasterCard and VISA)
Please note that although the card transaction gets done recently,it may take another 3 to 6 weeks for this bill to appear on your purchase history.This is a very special case for Japanese credit card billing that each credit company sets a closing date for their transaction and the actual billing is normally complete several weeks after the purchase/closing date.
B) Paypal (You can order via online! Will ship to Confirmed Address for US residents.)
Please go ahead and complete the checkout first. Upon receiving your order, we'll calculate the shipping fee and send you a paypal invoice of a total amount. We try to send you within 24 hours from receiving you order, however, it may take longer in case of weekends and Japanese holidays.
C) Cash On Delivery --Available for domestic residents only
D) Convenience stores/Postal Money Transfer --Available for domestic residents with history purchase only
-Necessary minimum order for International Postal Money payments is 10,000 yen or more.*
-We are unable to accept VISA Electron and Western union transfers.

7)REQUEST FOR QUOTES
To receive an exact quote for your order, please specify item names (and size), quantity, and the shipping address (We must know City, Country and Zip code!).
We will get back to you with an accurate quote within 36-hour.
8)AFTER PLACING YOUR ORDER...
After placing your order online, you will receive an order confirmation via e-mail.(It usually takes 1-3 days from the order date to an actual shipping as long as the item(s) is in stock.) You will also receive another e-mail with a delivery confirmation number on the day of shipping. This will allow you to track your package on each country's postal service web page. All orders will be shipped via EMS (Express Mail Service).
9)HANDLING OF LACQUER:
A container fee must be charged (100 Japanese yen=1USD) since handling of lacquer requires great care and it must be packed in a specific plastic box for shipping.
In order to replace or return any items, you must contact us asap (+81-3-3950-0086 for English assistance).
If a wrong item is shipped to you, you must contact us in 14 days of recipient, so we can re-ship the correct item free of charge.
Full-Price Music Instruments:
You can return or exchange full-price merchandise within 10 days of the product’s arrival date. If you return your order, we will refund your payment minus:
1) Original shipping fee 2) International handling fee 3) 5% of the merchandise price as restocking fee
If you exchange to an item value less than what you originally paid, you will be credited the balance for the next 4 weeks. Return items must be in perfect condition, with original invoice.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept merchandise passed 8 or more days from the order’s receipt date.
We request that the customer bear shipping costs associated with return/replacements unless defective/wrong items is sent to you.
Sale-Price/Final Sale Music Instruments: Shakuhachi, Shinobue, Nohkan, Ryuteki, Taiko
We will credit your payment for sale merchandise returned within 7 days of the product arrival date. You can exchange to the other product with equivalent or more value. The credit is valid for 4 weeks from the returning date. We do not refund for musical instruments which are purchased at sale price or final price.
We request that the customer bear shipping costs associated with replacements unless defective/wrong items is sent to you.
For Any Other Merchandise:
We do not accept exchange/refund for:
Books, Sheet Music, CDs, DVDs
Any item that is specially discounted.
Any item that is returned after 7 business days from your product's arrival date.
Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, or is missing parts.
Any item that is special order by you.
We will pay for the shipping fee of a replacement for a defective/incorrect item(s).

You must let us know within 7 days from the product's arrival date. No refund is given if your request is after 7 business days from the product's arrival date.
- Refunds will be given by cash (in JPY) or paypal payment only. No bank transfer or any other methods.
- We can only refund after the product is returned to us in the original "UNOPENED" condition. If the item(s) is used or the original seal is open, we are unable to give refund.
-"Change of mind" return is not welcome as it requires a lof of time and manpower for processing.
- If you are returning due to "change of mind" (except for the cases where you get an incorrect or defective item), you are responsible to pay for the return postage to us.
- If you are returning due to "change of mind" (except for the cases where you get an incorrect or defective item), the 20% re-stocking fee will apply which will be deducted frmo the refund total.
-The original postage and the customs fee are not refundable as thiese are the buyer's responsibility.
-The refund process will begin after your product is returned to us.
Our prices are FIXED.
They are not negotiable. Please do not send us your offer.
Mejiro Co., Ltd. reserves the right to lower/increase the price of any item on our site at our discretion.
13)ORDERING PRE-OWNED ITEM(S):
-All pre-owned instruments are sold by our customers. We only sell professionally certified flutes.
-Our pre-owned instruments are available for in-store audition. Sorry we do not ship for audition.
-Pre-owned instruments are NOT brand new. They have been in the hands of more than one owner.
-Please see the above 10) REPLACEMENT/RETURN POLICY for terms and conditions.
A 100% non-refundable deposit is required to start construction of the instrument order.
Once the payment is received, no cancellation is accepted.
Ranjo flute and other custom orders are non-exchangeable/refundable.
Additionally, discount/promotion are not applicable to the specially made instuments.

15) SUSPENSION OF OUR SERVICES: NEW!
There has been numerous cancelations without any notice in the past years.
If (3) cancellations/unpaid orders are received by a same buyer, we will suspend our future services and any further orders by this particular buyer will be canceled automatically. Please contact us in advance if you must cancel your order.
