This is a type called transparent lacquer, but it is not completely clear!
Applying multiple layers will impart a brownish (or amber) color.
 
A) Kijiro Urushi:
A nearly transparent amber lacquer when applied thinly.
The finish is semi-glossy, but polishing brings out the natural luster of the lacquer itself. For top coating.
 
 
B)Josuke Nakanuri Urushi: 
A nearly transparent lacquer for the inside when applied thinly. Semi-glossy.
Nakanuri is to lacquer to clean the surface and make it smooth for maki-e. By using the same grade of lacquer as the top-coating urushi, the top-coating can be done easier and beautifully.
 
 
C)Nashiji Urushi:
Used for Nashi-ji lacquering. Selected raw lacquer with good transparency is added with a vegetable yellow dye to improve the coloring of gold powder. Non-glossy, it needs to be polished to be glossy.
